Hyundai Aura
Hyundai India is working on a new compact sedan based on the Grand i10 Nios. The model will reportedly replace the Xcent in India and will be known as the Aura. The Xcent, meanwhile, could be sold only in the lower trims.
Up-front, the Hyundai Aura will receive a fascia similar to that of the Grand i10 Nios. Highlights of the front will include the signature cascading grille with integrated boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, new bumper and projector headlamps.
Details regarding the interiors of the upcoming Hyundai new compact sedan are unavailable at the moment although the model is expected to come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and an Arkamys music system. Hyundai is also likely to offer the Blue Link connectivity.
Powertrain options on the new Hyundai Aura will include BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel engines paired to a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT. The model is expected to arrive in the first half of 2020 with a price in the range of Rs 6-9 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Aura compact sedan will rival against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire and the Honda Amaze.
